Belonging Early Learning Hornsby is a family-owned, purpose-built long day care and preschool on Clarke Road, next to Hornsby South Public School. Open 7:00am to 6:00pm from Monday to Friday, 52 weeks a year, we care for children from birth to school age across six age-based rooms.

Bottlebrushes Room
0 - 16 months (Nursery)
The Bottlebrushes Room is our nursery for babies from 6 months to around 16 months. Our team works closely with you to learn your baby’s sleep, feeding and settling routines, so their routine with us follows the same rhythm as at home. You can follow your baby’s day through the OWNA app, from bottles, meals, nappy changes and sleep to what they’ve been exploring and enjoying. Bottlebrushes babies have their own separate cot room for rest, an indoor room for play and discovery, and a shaded soft-fall outdoor area where they can crawl, practise walking and explore at their own pace.
Grevilleas Room
16 months - 2.5 years (Nursery)
The Grevilleas Room is the older room in our nursery, for babies who are beginning to walk independently and have moved to one sleep a day. It’s where first friendships form, as children start to explore the world around them. Guided by our belief that children learn best through play, educators set up the room and plan the program around each child’s interests and what’s happening at home. Grevilleas children have their own indoor room, a dedicated outdoor eating space where they share meals with friends, a shaded outdoor area for more activities, and access to our large front playground and sandpit.
Wattle (Water + Wind) Rooms
2 - 3.5 years (Toddlers)
Moving upstairs to the Wattles is a big step, and children make it when they’re ready to manage the stairs confidently. The Wattles are split into two smaller groups: Wattle Water, for children aged 2 to 3, and Wattle Wind, for older children aged 2½ to 3½. Here, children build their independence day by day, from washing their own hands to starting toilet training, with educators working alongside families at each child’s pace. We believe children learn best through play and discovery, so the Wattles have a blended indoor and outdoor classroom where children can follow their curiosity and create in their own way. Outdoors, they have room to run, climb and dig across the front playground, bark area, sandpit and lower riverbank playground.
Banksias Room
3 - 4 years (Preschool)
The Banksias Room is our junior preschool room, where children learn with early childhood teachers and begin building early literacy, numeracy and communication skills. Children explore cultures, ideas and nature through hands-on play and are engaged in special activities including language, music and dance. The Banksias have their own classroom with a connected balcony for meals, and play moves between indoors and out throughout the day. They also have access to the whole playground: the front area, bark area, sandpit and lower riverbank area for more adventurous play.
Waratahs Room
4 - 5 years (Preschool)
The Waratahs Room is for children in the year before school, with a program led by an early childhood teacher. Our school readiness program helps children prepare emotionally, physically for school, with a focus on self-regulation, early literacy and numeracy. As we’re right next door to Hornsby South Public School, children also visit the school to get a feel for big school before they start. The Waratahs continue the language, music and dance program, and families are welcome to join in by reading a story or sharing a cultural celebration with the group.
